About the Book

In a world of beauty and tremendous progress a new 'evil genie', Dappa Coxxon, had emerged on the heels of stupendous wealth and nebulous connection to power blocks across the globe to usurp to himself the responsibility of Saviour and Messiah of the human race. To achieve his ambition the shadowy Dappa sets out, in the face of mounting opposition, to acquire, through intimidation, blackmail, bribery and other scandalous shenanigans, the minimum number of vote from the United Nations' General Assembly to legitimatize the quest of achieving a non spatial state status for his Lotus conglomerate. A non spatial state status for the Lotus conglomerate would ensure that the corporation get to keep all its profits without having to pay taxes to its host nations and equally enable it bypass some knotty ethical issues concerning it researches. It is one thing to acquire a state and another to keep it. In view of that, a prison break and an assassination were necessary. The prison break was to set free and obtain the allegiance of Major Okon Ibiang, an ex Biapharan top secret agent who went rogue and was imprisoned for life in the Kirikiri Maximum Prison reputed to be the most secure gulag in the world. With the secret at Major Okon's disposal, The Dappa hoped to build a small but powerful army. The assassination was to eliminate The Dappa's alter ego who had been on the scene and thus enable him to emerge as the best thing to happen to humanity. In a maze of crisscrossing scenes, love affairs and unpredictable characters three personalities stood out; two Amazonian beauty queens, Clara Ijeoma Onovo, a daredevil Lotus special force recruit, who mindlessly went about the corporation's dirty assignments with eyes on the elite force and Jane Adesuwa Obaseki, an agent of the Biapharan secret service and a one time colleague of Major Okon Ibiang, who was assigned to keep an eye on the imprisoned Major and find a way to unlock the secret he held close to his chest, with the fearless heart of the famed Queen Idia of ancient Benin, facing each other from the opposite sides of the divide and Drissina Buhari, a lovelorn wheeler and backstreet hustler, chasing the ideal in an imperfect world, who fall in love with Clara Ijeoma Onovo and later find out that there is always a dark side to every light when she betrayed him. As tough as Clara turned out to be, she met her match in the equally tough undercover agent Jane Adesuwa Obaseki, who was out to rope in The Dappa one way or another.
