Binnen weniger Augenblicke können mit wenig Mühe nicht verstandene Informationen gesucht und abgefragt und das Wissen ergänzt werden. Dabei beschränkt sich die Verarbeitung des Themas nicht nur auf reine Informationsmedien. Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass verschiedene berühmte Persönlichkeiten von sich sagen, sie haben im buddhistischen Glauben Glück und Zufriedenheit im Leben gefunden. Bei Interviews sind sie dabei aber nicht die einzigen, die über den Buddhismus sprechen. Das berichtende Medium selbst nutzt nicht selten die Gelegenheit, die selbstrecherchierten Fakten zum Glauben der Berühmtheit zu präsentieren. Somit sind es in gewisser Weise auch die Unterhaltungsmedien, die informierend ein Bild vom Buddhismus zeichnen und zwischen dem Leser oder Zuhörer und der fremden Kultur zu vermitteln versuchen. Durch die teilweise starke Präsenz solcher Medien und ihrer leichten Auffindbarkeit, kann vermutet werden, dass für manche Menschen in Deutschland dies und nicht der vorrangig objektive Schulunterricht der erste Zugang zum Buddhismus ist. Die Frage, die an dieser Stelle gestellt werden muss, ist die nach der Qualität dieser Darstellungen, nicht nur in den informierenden Unterhaltungsmedien, sondern auch in den rein informierenden. Wird der buddhistische Glaube, das buddhistische Weltbild oder die buddhistische Glaubenspraxis an diesen Stellen richtig wiedergegeben? Oder handelt es sich nicht doch eher um medienwirksame Inszenierungen dessen, was die Allgemeinheit als typisch buddhistisch vermutet? Ist an manchen Stellen das Bild vom Buddhism
