Das Monochord ist ein Saiteninstrument, das durch die Experimente des Pythagoras bekannt wurde und noch heute in der harmonikalen Forschung eine zentrale Rolle spielt. Sein Siegeszug in die Instrumentensammlung von Musikern, Musikpadagogen, Musiktherapeuten und experimentierfreudigen Laien begann in den 1980er Jahren, nachdem das Monochord am Freien Musikzentrum Munchen in musiktherapeutischen und harmonikalen Seminaren sowie in Bau- und Spielworkshops bekannt wurde. Heute dient es, aufgrund seiner leichten Spielbarkeit, vielen Menschen zur Wiederentdeckung der eigenen Musikalitat und wird selbstverstandlich in Musiktherapie, Musikpadagogik und bei Musikproduktionen eingesetzt. Die beiden Autoren waren massgeblich an diesem Prozess beteiligt und informieren im vorliegenden Buch ausfuhrlich uber die verschiedenen Aspekte des Monochordes. Beginnend mit einem historischen Abriss, fuhrt es in das harmonikale Denken ein und beschaftigt sich damit, wie das Monochord in der Musik angewendet wurde und wird. Ferner berichten verschiedene Autoren uber die Bedeutung des Monochordes in der heutigen Musiktherapie und Musikpadagogik. Ausfuhrliche Bauanleitungen, Spielvorschlage und eine Skalensammlung runden das Thema ab.
About the Author: Contributor Biography - German Jan DoschStudium der Theaterwissenschaft, Psychologie und Soziologie an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat in Munchen. Seit 1974 ist Jan Dosch im Rahmen der Erwachsenenbildung als musikpadagogisch und spater als Instrumentenbauer in verschiedenen Institutionen im In- und Ausland tatig. 1977 grundete er u.a. zusammen mit dem Komponisten Peter Michael Hamel das Freie Musikzentrum Munchen, das er bis 1999 leitete sowie auch die institutseigene Instrumentenbauwerkstatt, in der er in den fruhen 80ger Jahren erste Monochorde und andere experimentelle Musikinstrumente fur Musiktherapie und -padagogik entwarf.Seit 1999 konzentriert sich Jan Dosch mit eigener Werkstatt ganz auf den Musikinstrumentenbau. Daneben spielt er in verschiedenen Formationen unter anderem auch auf dem Monochord.Tonius Timmermann, Prof. Dr.rer.biol.hum. Studium der Padagogik mit Schwerpunkten Psychologie, Sozialpadagogik und Musik (Dipl. Pad.); drei Jahre als Musiklehrer im Schuldienst; Ausbildung zum Musiktherapeuten an der Hochschule fur Musik und darstellende Kunst und Universitat Wien; Musiktherapeut BVM, Psychotherapie HPG; Klinische Tatigkeit an der Universitatsnervenklinik Munchen, Klinik St. Irmingard in Prien/Chiemsee, Abt. Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik; Musiktherapeutische Forschung an der Universitat Ulm, Abt. Psychotherapie, Promotion bei Prof. Kachele uber eine musiktherapeutische Einzelfallstudie; private Praxis in Munchen; Lehrauftrage an den Universitaten Wien und Munchen, Aufbau und Leitung der "Berufsbegleitenden Weiterbildung Musiktherapie" am Freien Musikzentrum Munchen; seit Oktober 2003: Professor fur Musiktherapie und Aufbau des Masterstudienganges an der Hochschule fur Musik Nurnberg-Augsburg, Abt.
