Was hat den Fortschritt zu grosserer Milde ermoglicht? War es nur ein Fortschritt der Ideen? Oder sind wir heute einfach kluger als unsere Vorfahren? About the Author: Gertrude Lubbe-Wolff, geb. 1953, lehrt Offentliches Recht und Grundlagenfacher des Rechts an der Universitat Bielefeld. Von 1988 bis 1992 leitete sie das Umweltamt der Stadt Bielefeld, von 2002 bis 2014 war sie Richterin des Bundesverfassungsgerichts in Karlsruhe.
