About the Book

IN ENGLISH: This book contains variations on the theme of making a clear distinction between the women and the muse, between on one side the "Other one", the friend, the companion, the lover or the spouse and, on the other side, the woman in one-self, also named "anima" by Carl G. Jung (or "animus", the man in one-self if we are female). Twice seven poems searching for Liberty and esoteric Knowledge, through "L'oeuvre au noir" and the reconciliation of the opposites in order to reach the real awakening. (excerpt of "Prelude: The "She-other" and the "She" in me".) The awakening or "Alchemical wedding" is the reunion of our deepest self and the Light. This universe of imagination and symbols is traditionally associated with the Women, but also with the Moon, the Water and the "running silver", the Mercury, one of the ancient names given by the Alchemists to the "Materia Prima", the primary matter, the Word ! This term calls the image of Mater, mother, but also the original broth, the sea, the deepest oceans of our consciousness, a rich source of meditations... The symbolic wedding between the Sun and the Moon might go as far as referring to the realization of the Androgyne. The awakening might be at that price. Alchemy and Awakening are closely joined. Alchemy is the Art of evolving transformations. (Excerpt from the foreword by Georges Darmon)
IN ENGLISH: As soon as, in the early seventies, he made his first encounters with other cultures, the author realized that if we wish to understand these cultures we have to approach them on tiptoe, with the same curiosity, respect and admiring astonishment as when we were children discovering for the first time the sea, the desert, the mountain, the polder, the marsh, the forest, the bocage... All through forty years of work in sixty countries, always teaming with local people, he kept observations and notebooks that brought him to see that cultural diversity is a rich opportunity of learning and a valuable resourcing for our own humanism.
