About the Book

In a world brought to its knees by religious terrorism. Rioting, looting, murder, mayhem & unrelenting chaos envelop the streets as a mysterious group known as the Sons of God destroy this 'sinful and wicked society'. Social order crumbles. Governments fall. Nations perish; and the streets are awash with crimson floods of metallic tasting blood as stranger fights stranger and sister kills brother. A random act of fate sees a cold hearted drug dealer grudgingly protecting a newly orphaned 8-year-old girl; and together they travel, beset on all sides by deception, pain, and unrelenting panic. Together they fight, becoming acquainted with the many moods, shades and smells of death in a world where all are potentially violent enemies. Especially those closest. They will do what it takes to survive or they will die in the attempt. The revolution has begun, and they are a part of it.
About the Author: Thanks for taking an interest in my book Death of the Ego. This thing's been a labour of love for a few years now and I'm really glad to finally have it out there for people to read. I also want you to know that I've tried my absolute hardest to give you an amazing literary experience. Ever since I was a kid I'd loved reading with a passion because a great story has the ability to literally transport your mind to another world. You simply forget all about your life and become one with the adventure. Even though you might have only spent 3 hours reading, you feel like you've spent weeks, months and years bonding with the characters and some of my fondest memories are of being under the duvet at night as a kid doing exactly that. This book has been written to give you this exact experience. I can't guarantee that you'll like it but I can promise you that I've done my best to ensure that you will. Every last line has been written and rewritten multiple times to make sure that it's as entertaining to read as possible. I haven't just wanted to write an fascinating story, I've wanted to write an fascinating story that was delivered in an captivating way and I really hope you think I've achieved that. Now, the book itself starts off pretty dark and I'd be shocked if there weren't at least some of you who were a bit scared by the first few chapters but I want you to know a few things. 1 - The darkness in this book isn't gratuitous. It serves a very important purpose which I hope will become clear as you progress through it. 2 - The darkness doesn't last forever. There's moments of real tenderness that come both along with and behind it! Also, even though this book deals with the concept of Christian terrorism please know that it's not a commentary on the religion at all. My first idea was to write something about Islamic terrorism, but how clichéd is that topic really? The idea just sounded trite, but when I changed the premise to Christian terrorism it suddenly became much more interesting. Also I have to admit to a small degree of laziness because having a Christian family and having grown up going to church I know the religion very well and could convincingly write from that perspective. I hope you enjoy my book. Web: www.ciarancallam.com Twitter: www.twitter.com/ciarancallam IG: www.instagram.com/ciarancallam
