About the Book

Amazon reviews: By CDM Reader Format: Kindle Edition "A lighthearted mystery caper for 10-12 year olds, this book has a group of likable boy detectives who also happen to be members of the bagpipe band at a private boarding school for boys run by Episcopal Monks. The story focuses on the new boy, "Mac" MacDonough, and the other members of the bagpipe band. Working as a group, they try to protect their favorite teacher from the evil machinations of her ex-husband. Firs they have to figure out what he's up to. Then they have to stop him from carrying out his nefarious plans. The action is non-stop and told with a comical touch. The atmosphere at St. Rupert's Academy is part Harry Potter, part Hardy Boys, with nothing too dark or disturbing to worry a concerned parent. A great read!"
About the Author: Now published on Amazon and Smashwords, Nanette has moved her finished work forward for all to enjoy. She created and maintains three blogs which reflect her interests: Can Do Homeschooling, Fiddler Blog and Blather. She has several writing projects in the works, a sequel to Deceiving Mr. Bevison and a Celtic fantasy for the YA crowd. Nanette's life has been a study in contrasts. Born on Whidbey Island, she grew, nestled in the warmth of rural island life. Later, she struggled to understand the cold anonymity of her life in suburban Florissant, Missouri. Her writing and reading have become an opportunity for her to resolve the issue of these conflicting worlds. She uses her experience to create stories that portray her vision of an idealistic world for children, full of love and a caring community of mentors who take childhood seriously. Because of her curiosity and many interests; horses, Edwardian Era novels, classical violin, Polish fiddling, Celtic fiddling, archaeology, medical pathology, xeriscaping, nature and homeopathy, she has met all kinds of delightful and funny people whom she uses to populate her escapist mysteries and fantasy novels.
