About the Book

What if someone you love disappeared, leaving no trace she ever existed? That is the heart-wrenching conundrum facing former pilot, Jack Keeler, now a hard-working Chicago advertising guy who finally found the perfect girl, the soul mate of whom he always dreamed. But when she mysteriously disappears, Jack wonders if she was real or a fantasy. As he struggles with that enigma, he soon realizes his world is not what it seems, and the reality he thought he knew is only an illusion. He suddenly finds himself in a totally different world, one filled with romance, danger and death. When Jack realizes he is a man living in two worlds, his life begins to unravel as he tries to separate the world of reality from the world of illusion. Set against the vibrant backdrop of present day Chicago, a small Indiana town, and the South Pacific in World War Two, Delirium is a haunting love story spanning time and continents. Its compelling, all too human characters jump off the page to join the reader in the mystery, action and romance.
About the Author: James Wharton is an American author of historical fiction, supernatural and humorous novels. Wharton's historical novels are developed on a foundation of factual historical mystery, time travel and supernatural undertones. His humorous novels are loosely based on biographical events and bizarre individuals he has encountered along the way. James Wharton was born on February 22 (the same month and day as George Washington) in St. Louis, Missouri. Wharton traces his lineage to the Revolutionary War with several ancestors serving at Valley Forge. At age 14, Wharton left home to work for three years as a page boy in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, one of which was in Southeast Asia in the Viet Nam War. Wharton is an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Marketing. His interest in history and historical fiction is a result of his family background and experience in Washington, D.C. and the military. Wharton's favorite quotation is "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." (Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
