Besonders im 20. Jahrhundert haben philosophische Logik und analytische Philosophie die für die Künstliche Intelligenz wesentlichen theoretischen Grundlagen und Ideen geliefert, die später von den KI-Forschern aufgegriffen und weiterentwickelt wurden. Als die eigentliche Kernfrage der KI-Wissenschaft kann jedoch die nach dem Verhältnis von Geist und Gehirn bzw. Seele und Leib gelten. Während die KI-Forschung implizit wie explizit reduktionistisch-materialistische Stellungen bezieht, kann seit geraumer Zeit sowohl in Naturwissenschaft wie in analytischer Philosophie von einer Renaissance reduktions-skeptischer Positionen gesprochen werden. Klar ist: Gelänge es, etwa aufgrund physikalisch-neurophysiologischer oder auch philosophisch-ontologischer Überlegungen das Leib-Seele-Problem entweder noch besser zu verstehen und gegebenenfalls zu reformulieren oder gar zu entscheiden, würde dies eine definitive ontologische Klärung und Bewertung (nicht nur) des KI-Ansatzes ermöglichen. Um ein solches vertieftes Verständnis aus einer zu den bekannten philosophischen Positionen gleichsam «diagonal» situierten Perspektive - anti-reduktionistisch und deterministisch - bemüht sich diese Arbeit. Abschließend wird, auf der Basis eines postulierten einfachen ontologischen Systems, eine (rudimentäre) Reformulierung bzw. Re-Kontextuierung des Leib-Seele-Problems versucht, welche zur differenzierteren Diskussion der KI-Paradigmen beitragen soll. Die hier vertretene These - Emotivität als irreduzibles, notwendiges architektonisches Modul zur Realisierung «höherer» Intelligenz - hat offensichtliche Konsequenzen für die Diskussion der zur Generierung tatsächlicher Intelligenz befähigten potentiellen maschinellen Strukturen, die dann nämlich zumindest keine «einfachen» Maschinen herkömmlicher Provenienz mehr sein dürften.
