Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Ethnologie / Volkskunde, Note: 2,3, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Geschichte), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Tunceli, ehemals Dersim, ist geprägt von der Schönheit der Natur und der Landschaft. Für viele Alevitven ist Dersim die Heimat und aufgrund der vielen Pilgerungsstätte ein Ort zum Pilgern, um sich selbst wieder zu finden. Jedoch ist dieser Ort nicht nur geprägt von der Schönheit, auch sind dunkle Zeiten mit der Region verbunden. Insbesondere die Ereignisse 1937/38 hat die Region geprägt, wie kein Zweites. Der Begriff Dersim ist fest verbunden mit den Jahreszahlen. In dieser Zeit sind schätzungsweise 70.000 Menschen ums Leben gekommen und viele Teile der Bevölkerung sind aus der Heimat vertrieben worden. Die Gründe dafür werden bis heute noch kontrovers diskutiert. Ziel dieser Arbeit soll es sein, anhand von Berichten und Dokumenten aufzuzeigen, welches die Gründe für das Sterben und die Vertreibungen in Dersim waren. In Anbetracht dieses Untersuchungsgegenstandes sollten zuerst die Bevölkerung und die Region näher betrachtet werden. Aufgrund der Übersetzung von einigen Teilen der Bevölkerung von "der" mit Tür und "sim" mit Silber, verstehen einige unter Dersim die "Silberne-Tür". Der an der westlichen Grenze von Dersim lebende Stamm Qocan versteht unter Dersim, das Tor Kurdistans. Beim Qocan-Stamm handelt es sich um einen Kriegerstamm, die sich als die Wächter jenes Tores betrachten. Laut Dr. Nuri Dersimi, einer der ersten Historiker aus der Region, sei die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung Dersims der Meinung, dass Dersim gleich bedeutend mit Kurdistan ist. Deswegen sagt auch ein Dersimer, wenn er von einem anderen Ort zurückkommt, dass er zurück in Kurdistan ist. Dersim ist die ehemalige Bezeichnung der heutigen Stadt Tunceli, was so viel bedeutet wie die eiserne Faust. Im Zuge des Tunceli-Gesetzes und als Folge der Gesetze zum nationalen Denken wurde der Name des Ortes umbenannt.
