Seminar paper de l'année 2015 dans le domaine Etudes des langues romanes - Français - Littérature, note: 1,7, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Institut für Romanistik), langue: Français, résumé Hermann Hesse est fils des parents missionnaires qui travaillaient en Inde et qui l'ont encouragé à lire des oeuvres indiennes anciennes. Les lettres croient lui capable d'un traitement critique du bouddhisme, une conviction qui est pour la plupart liée à son roman Siddhartha . Dans ceci, il se présente autant comme transformateurs des idées de l'est que critique. Hesse a une manière sélective de traiter ses connaissances sur Inde; il évite, on dira, de se mettre au service de la religion bouddhiste mais il développe une philosophie soi-même qui a des congruences conceptuelles ainsi que ponctuelles avec le bouddhisme. À départ de cette observation, on va examiner la philosophie présentée dans Siddhartha sur le fond de son inspiration orientale. On en vient à soupçonner que l'intégration de l'élément indien et du bouddhisme ne sert qu'à transmettre sa propre philosophie, donc qu'Hesse l'instrumentalise pour sa démarche. Pour aller au fond de cette observation, on traitera et classifiera les autres traits indiens à part du bouddhisme comme le lieu poétique et la construction des personnages. Il sera important de bien distinguer l'élément indien soi servant comme aspect de la forme soi comme aspect du contenu. On va voir qu'il y a des chevauchements entre les idées d'Hesse et celles du bouddhisme. Donc, on consacrera un chapitre de ce travail pour expliquer pourquoi à certaines parties on observe des congruences idéelles en remarquant la détermination avec laquelle Hesse a choisi le lieu de Siddhartha . Pour vérifier l'impression sur le traitement d'un sujet oriental on va comparer et discuter la méthode et le poursuit d'Hesse d'intégrer des connaissances sur Inde avec la littérature secondaire dans le cadre d'orientalisme en se souvenant de la position culturelle
