Las cuatro partes de este libro se centran en la tesis de que la destrucción de Cuba no es el resultado del sistema socialista sino una acción premeditada para facilitar la dominación por la pobreza generada de esa destrucción. Página tras página aumenta la credibilidad de la relación causa-efecto. La Primera Parte repasa las incontables promesas y predicciones que nunca materializaron. La Segunda Parte discute la dominación por la pobreza, que culmina con los derrumbes físicos que generan el desplome moral. En el ejercicio del poder absoluto se discuten la personalidad de Fidel Castro y su aparato represivo y administrativo. La Tercera Parte contiene un análisis de los Planes Fidel -faraónicos proyectos abandonados sin alcanzar sus metas. La sección del financiamiento revela cómo el comandante conseguía y manejaba los recursos para derrocharlos en fantasías. Se han compilado costos que ni siquiera se acercan a un porcentaje mínimo del total derrochado. Todo el material está salpicado por humor político para hacer nuestro el mensaje de Celia Cruz: "ríe, llora, que a cada cual le llega su hora". Se pudiera considerar como el hermano gemelo de Doce Mitos y Mentiras de la Revolución Fidelista (KDP 2019) porque ambos se complementan. Parte de este material se publicó en idioma inglés bajo el título Fidel Castro's agricultural follies: absurdity, waste and parasitism (CreateSpace 2014). Fidel Castro se creía un Quijote y actuaba como tal. Don Quijote de Birán ejerció el poder absoluto en el sector agropecuario. Lo hizo en parte a través de los planes especiales de Fidel, que revelan el grado de necedad delirante que compartía el líder cubano con Don Quijote de la Mancha. No debemos dejarles a los papagayos de la isla el dominio de la disputa historiográfica por el saldo del castrismo. Muchas personas han mostrado interés en conocer el costo de los planes descabellados de Castro en la agricultura. Es probable, afirman algunos, que cuando eso se conozca nos demos cuenta de la magnitud del daño causado por tantas ideas convertidas en proyectos que nunca se debieron ejecutar. Estas páginas presentan una pequeña muestra de esos costos. El Quijote cubano nunca abandonó su mundo irreal. Durante las 100 horas de conversación con Ignacio Ramonet le confesó haber cometido errores, pero eran de naturaleza táctica [método o sistema para ejecutar o conseguir algo], no estratégica [Arte, traza para dirigir un asunto]. Pero le aseguró no tener ni una iota de arrepentimiento por lo que había hecho con su país y la manera en que había organizado la sociedad. Ausencia total de humildad y modestia. En la novela de Cervantes, Don Quijote finalmente recupera su cordura antes de morir. Ese no fue el caso del Quijote cubano.Fidel Castro concluyó su alegato jurídico en 1953 afirmando que la historia lo absolvería. Acompañemos al difunto comandante multisabichoso en un recorrido por el laberinto que nos dejó, en busca de pruebas que deben considerarse antes de dictar sentencia. Sesenta y cinco años después, aquí está una modesta contribución al juicio de la historia.
