Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: 1,0, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Theaterwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Kernmodul MRC, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit der Uraufführung im Jahre 1882 ragt der Parsifal aus Wagners Werk heraus durch die kompromisslose Kritik, die emphatisch vorgetragene Zustimmung wie auch Ablehnung und durch die vielfältigsten Interpretationsansätze. Die endgültige Kernaussage bleibt die Frage der Erlösung. Nietzsche spottete "Irgendwer will bei ihm immer erlöst sein: bald ein Männlein, bald ein Fräulein - dies ist sein Problem." Aber Wagner fühlte auch, dass die Menschheit nicht in Übereinstimmung mit der Natur lebte, im Ring lässt er die Nornen von Wotans Verletzung der Weltesche berichten mit dem aussichtslosen Schluss: "In langer Zeiten Lauf zehrte die Wunde den Wald." Und so trug er seiner eigenen hausgemachten Kunstreligion auf, den Menschen ihre und der Welt Erlösungsbedürftigkeit vor Augen zu führen. Wagner sah Erlösung als das Glück des Lebens jenseits der herrschenden Gesetzeswelten, aber auch als "die sakralisierte Form eines ästhetisch gewendeten Revolutionsbegriffs", denn er hatte das Scheitern der Bürgerlichen Revolution 1848/49 nicht vergessen. Und oft ist die Erlösung einzelner oder einer Gemeinschaft mit dem Opfer eines der Protagonisten verknüpft. Die moralisch neue Lebensordnung, die weder Kirche noch Staat schaffen können, ist nach Wagners Ansicht nur durch die Kunst zu erreichen. Der Frage: Erlösung wessen? Wodurch oder durch wen? werde ich in dieser Arbeit nachgehen, und zwar aus heutiger Sicht, wobei ich intensiv die Figur der Kundry betrachte. Beispielhaft verwende ich dafür die Inszenierung von Sandra Leupold am Staatstheater Mainz, welche am 12.9.2008 Premiere hatte. Die folgenden vier Kapitel dienen dem Zweck, sich über die verwendeten Begriffe zu verständigen, damit eine gemeinsame Grundlage im Verstehen erreicht wird, aber auch um die notwendigen Abgrenzungen vornehme
