Da ist auch Paul van Orten, ein vom Polosport begeisterter, sehr reicher, aber orientierungslos durchs Leben Wandelnder, der sich mit fremden Leben auseinandersetzen muss. Der amerikanische Unternehmer Jeff Albright, der bereits in den USA mit seinem Unternehmensmodell der Gated Communities zu Reichtum kam, wittert ein großes Geschäft. Doch die Entwicklung entzieht sich jedem Kalkül, und so nimmt das Schicksal seinen Lauf. Eine Rolle spielt auch der schmierige, gewissenlose Meinhard von Knierim, ein Beamter der Potsdamer Stadtverwaltung, der darauf hofft, durch Albright Karriere zu machen und der ihm deshalb bei den Bauprojekten hilft. Unterstützt wird er von Jens Rudelt, einem rechtsgesinnten Politiker, der mit Stimmungsmache gegen Zuzügler seiner Partei zum Durchbruch verhelfen will. Er träumt von einem Platz im Parlament für sich und von der Regierungsverantwortung seiner Partei. Und dann gibt es noch Jürgen Dörrfeld, ein deutschlandweit bekannter und von sich maßlos überzeugter Manager, von dessen Ansiedlung in einem seiner Wohnprojekte sich Albright eine Sogwirkung für alle schutzbedürftigen Bürger erhofft. About the Author: Dirk Westphal wurde Mitte der 60er-Jahre in Berlin geboren. Er wechselte mehrfach den Wohnort, lebte in Frankreich, Belgien und den Vereinigten Staaten, bis er in seine Heimatstadt zurückkehrte. Er berichtet zurzeit als Journalist für eine große deutsche Wochenzeitung aus der deutschen Hauptstadt.
