Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2012 im Fachbereich Russistik / Slavistik, Note: 1,7, Universität Potsdam (Slavistik), Veranstaltung: Polnischer Barock, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Jan Andrzej Morsztyn wurde 1621 in Wiśnicz geboren und gilt als einer der bekanntesten Vertreter der polnischen Poesie im barocken Zeitalter. Er war jedoch nicht nur Dichter, sondern auch ein Adliger, Angehöriger des Landadels und Politiker. In Italien entwickelte sich um 1600 herum in der Literatur ein neuer Stil, der Marinismus, der von Giambattista Marino (1569-1625) konsequent genutzt wurde und starre Regeln des Schreibens gebrochen hat. Seine Werke waren für Morsztyn häufig in thematischer, formaler und stilistischer Hinsicht eine Inspiration. In der vorliegenden Arbeit versuche ich ausgewählte Werke zu interpretieren, sie mit Hilfe der Leitmotive einzuordnen und den Bezug zur Antike zu finden. Folgende Fragen kommen dabei auf: Wie stark erkennt man das Lebensgefühl der Menschen des barocken Zeitalters in Morsztyns Werken? Mit welchen Themen setzt er sich auseinander? Gibt es tatsächlich eindeutige Bezüge zu antiken Schriften? Wenn ja, welche Mythen der Antike nutzt er als Quellen? Morsztyns handgeschriebenen Werke werden heute durch seinen extravaganten Stil als typisch für diese Epoche in Polen angesehen. Der polnische Dichter verwendete jedoch nicht die charakteristischen Eigenschaften des Barocks, wie moralische und religiöse Konflikte oder eine innere Zerrissenheit - das wichtigste in seiner Poesie war die inhärenten Widersprüchlichkeiten, weshalb künstlerische Mittel, wie Paradoxien, Antithesen und überraschende Konzepte nicht von ihm verwendet wurden, um einen ideologischen Inhalt auszudrücken (wie beispielweise bei Mikolaja Sępa-Szarzyński), sondern um die poetische Virtuosität eines Artisten darzustellen ("popis wirtuozerii artysty").
