Sollte Pyrotechnik legalisiert werden oder etwa lieber nicht? Und wenn ja, in welchem Umfang? Kontrollierte Abbrennräume, Ultrablöcke? Die Deutsche Fußballliga (DFL) gibt sich nach außen hin gesprächsbereit, doch ist intern längst klar, dass die Gespräche nur Schein sind. Um die Öffentlichkeit auf ihre Seite zu ziehen, veröffentlicht die DFL geschönte Umfragen (Vgl. textilvergehen 2012) und die Presse nimmt dies bereitwillig entgegen, passen die Nachrichten doch zu den ständigen Berichten über zunehmende Fangewalt. Was jedoch weder die DFL noch die Medien und auch nicht die Logenbesitzer in den teuren Arenen zu bemerken scheinen, ist für engagierte Fans in den letzten Jahren zur Qual geworden. Die Fankultur wird immer mehr zerstört. Stadionnamen werden verkauft, immer größere Arenen gebaut, die für Fußball ungeeignet sind, Stehplätze werden wegrationalisiert und die Preise immer weiter erhöht. Die Zerstückelung des Spieltags hat zur Folge, dass immer weniger Fans problemlos auswärts fahren können, da sowohl Freitag- als auch Montagabend-Spiele nicht so leicht besucht werden können, wie Samstagsbegegnungen. (Berliner Kurier 2012b)Stadionverbote werden zu häufig willkürlich erteilt und die Unschuldsvermutung unseres Rechtsstaates wird ausgehebelt (textilvergehen 2012b). Guantanamo in klein - nur für Fußballfans eben. All diese Entwicklungen haben zur Folge, dass immer größere Teile der Fankultur verschwinden und die so genannten 'Sitzklatscher' in den Stadien Oberhand gewinnen.
