Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Universität Paderborn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit versucht die in Goldings Roman vorzufindenden Motive zu Meeres‐ und Inselwelten herauszustellen und zu erläutern und auszuarbeiten. Parallel dazu lassen sich im Voraus bereits ein paar grundlegende Fragen, die die weiteren Ausarbeitungen begleiten werden, formulieren: Inwiefern lassen sich Inselmotive in Goldings Roman wiederfinden? Wie lässt sich das Metaphernfeld "Meer" hier einordnen? Wie lässt sich der stetige Zerfall der Zivilisation anhand der Kinder auf der Insel beobachten und welche Rolle hat dies für mögliche Lesearten des Textes? Vorab lassen sich bereits mehrere Hypothesen zu dem zu bearbeitenden Text stellen. Eine wäre, dass sich die Motive von Insel und Meer in dem Roman "Herr der Fliegen" auffinden und analysieren lassen. Dies liegt besonders nahe, da bereits der Rahmen der Handlung auf diese Metaphernfelder zu verweisen scheint. Gleichfalls interessant sind die weiteren zahlreichen metaphorischen Stilmittel, die der Autor in seinem Werk verwendet. Diese werden ebenfalls herausgearbeitet und versucht möglichst nah am Text interpretiert zu werden. Was den "Herr der Fliegen" sich möglicherweise von anderen Texten seines Genres abheben lässt, ist die Nutzung von Kindern als Protagonisten des Romans. Der Inhalt des Romans "Der Herr der Fliegen" von William Golding lässt sich zunächst simpel erklären: Eine Gruppe englischstämmiger Kinder strandet nach einem Flugzeugabsturz auf einer isolierten Insel irgendwo im Südpazifik. Schnell stellt sich heraus, dass sich keine Erwachsenen auf der Insel befinden und die Heranwachsenden auf sich allein gestellt sind. Nach und nach verfallen schließlich die Zivilisationsstrukturen der Kinder, bis hin zu einem vollkommenen Chaos und eine Verwilderung der Figuren gegen Ende des Romans findet statt.
