Kommissarin Franziska Bialas und ihr Kollege Tim Hammer stehen vor einem Rätsel. Bei ihren Ermittlungen stellen sie fest, dass die angeblichen Opfer auch immer Täter sind. Ginger ist wie im Rausch. Die Daseinsberechtigung von Ginger basiert nur noch darauf zu töten. Doch Ben bekommt Gewissensbisse. Er versucht; seine Freundin davon abzuhalten so weiterzumachen. Ohne Erfolg. Ginger ist nicht mehr zu stoppen und nach einer Auseinandersetzung gehen sie getrennte Wege. Doch Ben gibt der Polizei einen Tipp und Franziska Bialas kommt Ginger gefährlich nahe. Ginger macht alleine weiter, aber dann merkt sie, dass ihr Treiben bald ein Ende hat. Sie will sich nicht mehr verstecken und plant, dass Dr. Julius Weber ihr letztes Opfer sein soll. Franziska Bialas und Tim Hammer sind ihr dicht auf den Fersen, aber sie kommen zu spät. Ben hat sich selber umgebracht und Ginger erschießt in der Klinik den Arzt. Sie lässt sich von der Polizei ohne Widerstand festnehmen und hat ihren Frieden gefunden. Als sie von dem Selbstmord ihres Freundes hört, hat sich der Kreis für sie geschlossen. Sie wird in die Psychiatrie eingewiesen und obwohl der Fall aufgeklärt ist, bekommt Franziska Zweifel. Hätte sie die beiden letzten Opfer nicht retten müssen? Hauptfiguren Franziska Bialas, Kriminalkommissarin in Köln, Ende Vierzig und liebt Frauen. Doch ihr Beruf frisst sie auf und jede Beziehung scheitert. Tim Hammer, Partner von Franziska.
