About the Author: Attul is an award-winning start up executive with deep propositions / business development experience across many sectors including private banking, gaming, fintech loyalty and analytics, and telecoms.
Academically trained as an electrical engineer, he has a unique balance between launching products in some of the world's leading organisations and developing his own ventures.
He has worked/consulted for some of the biggest brands including RBS, Microsoft, Deutsche Telekom, Experian, O2, Vodafone, Inmarsat, Telkomsel, CIMB Bank, Credit Agricole, Affinity Water, Aljawal Telecom, Sumitomo Corporation and many more. This experience set from working in Telecommunications, Utilities, Retail Banking and Management Consulting provides him with not only a cross sector industry view but also a very comprehensive contact network of senior/ mid- tier executives across these sectors.
A strategic innovator to the core, he was the Founder of Red Zebra Analytics from 2011 to 2015 where he successfully launched one of the first cashback loyalty systems in Europe building the company from inception, seed to exit post Series A. The product, 3D offers, was short listed for best financial loyalty platform by Loyalty Magazine in 2016. He was awarded Gamechanger of the Year for 2016 by ACQ5 and nominated for UK businessperson of the year. The experience taught him the hard graft of convincing people of an idea, bootstrapping to build the prototype, building up the seed investor base, growing strategic global partnerships, deciding the business model, winning contracts from retail banks, setting up a merchant affiliate network, building presence internationally especially in Brazil, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia, and countries in Central Europe, successfully doing the VC rounds and then negotiating a smooth exit and handover.
His various roles in the corporate world were in advising / reporting directly to executives at the C-Level. These have ranged from making best use of mobile spectrum, mobile broadband deployment, to payments strategy and better banking experiences. In RBS he provided the digital strategy for the Private banking customers and successfully launched some ground-breaking services including the Mobile Stockbroking service. He was recently Head of Innovation at Affinity Water crafting the five-year plan for operational improvement using IOT/predictive analytics for a CAPEX spend of over £37M and so understands the business drivers to sell innovation to large businesses whilst mindful of digital transformation priorities.
As a speaker he has presented his innovations on some of the biggest stages including the World Bank (SME Finance Forum), Marketing Week, and Finovate and knows the importance of building a strong market presence as an emerging start up.
Today he is using his unique experience set to provide fresh proposition thinking to companies, mentoring start-ups, and supporting academic programmes. He has a wide range of publications on ground breaking propositions including how AI / IOT technology can provide a better understanding of customer behaviour and improve internal operations. As an investor he has an extensive property portfolio and has been an associate film producer. He has written and sold a movie and presented a short movie at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.
Attul is an approachable, hands on energetic person who is able to support companies needing strong global commercial relationships to grow, evolve their value propositions, a strategic eye to check on the plan, advise on how to best work with VCs, know the pitfalls and ways to grow their business outside their traditional sectors.
