About the Book

English summary: Book 47 of Cassius Dios history of Rome catches the classical world on the cusp of Romes transformation from republic to empire. This original composition and account offers a first-hand account of this tumultuous period, centered on the institutional breakdowns of a political regime in agony. Critical apparatus, commentary, and indices complete this scholarly French edition.
