Unterrichtsentwurf aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Allgemeine Didaktik, Erziehungsziele, Methoden, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Kinder spielen gern, spielen ist "cool" und spielen macht Spaß. Und auch Eltern sowie Pädagogen haben ihre Freude daran, zuzusehen, wie Kinder so richtig in einem Spiel aufgehen; zumindest, wenn dieses Spiel draußen an der frischen Luft und mit Freunden stattfindet, oder wenn das Spiel in den Augen der Erwachsenen eine hohe kreative Leistung erfordert, wie beispielsweise das Basteln. Anders sieht es aus, wenn das Spiel alleine vor einem Computermonitor stattfindet. In diesem Fall dominieren Angst und Misstrauen vor dem für viele Eltern und Pädagogen unbekannten Medium. Spielen erscheint hier weniger förderlich als vielmehr schädlich für das Kind.1 Folgende Fragen drängen sich auf: Verlieren die Kinder durch das Videospiel ihre sozialen Kompetenzen? Machen Videospiele die Kinder gewaltbereit? Werden sie dick oder nervös? Werden sie am Ende sogar süchtig? So gesehen scheinen hier die, schon von Friedrich Schiller beschriebenen, positiven Effekte eines Spiels, mit dem sich der "Homo ludens" erst als wahrer Mensch beweist, hinter die Gefahren für die Charakterbildung zurück zu treten. Es ist richtig, dass das neue Medium eventuelle Gefahren, die bereits bei der Nutzung anderer Medien vorlagen, (soziale Vereinsamung, Abstumpfung gegenüber der Darstellung von Gewalt, Trägheit, Nervosität, Sucht) (um nur einige aufzuzeigen) verstärken kann. Richtig ist aber auch, dass es keine Lösung sein kann, Kinder radikal von Videospielen fernzuhalten. Videospiele haben sich, vergleichbar mit Kinofilmen, fest in die Alltagskultur integriert. Vor allem Kinder und Jugendliche haben das neue Medium Computer und den Reiz der neuen Formen des Spiels für sich entdeckt. Während sich Erwachsene den Umgang mit dem Computer meist mühsam erarbeiten müssen, erschließen sich Kinder und Jugendliche die neuen Möglichkeiten dieser Technik; getrieben von Neugier u
