Obwohl die meisten Gesellschaftsspiele auch im Internet gespielt werden können, werden noch immer neuzeitliche Klassiker wie Mensch ärgere Dich nicht oder Monopoly für das gemeinsame Spielen am Tisch verkauft; gleichzeitig halten sich Rollenspiele wie Das schwarze Auge, Kartenspiele wie Wizard oder Simulationsspiele wie Die Siedler von Catan und viele andere Formen mehr auf dem Markt. Nun fällt bei der Betrachtung der Spielanleitungen auf, dass ganz offensichtliche Überlagerungen zum Drama vorliegen. Drama und Gesellschaftsspiel sind Spiele; bei beiden gibt es Figuren oder Rollen; mit ein wenig Phantasie lässt sich auch das Spielbrett als Bühne begreifen. Die Schulpraxis verlangt ständig nach neuen Konzepten, den Bildungsauftrag zu erfüllen. Problematisch wird dabei oft die Einstellung und die Motivation sowie die Verständnisfähigkeit der Schüler gesehen. Kann es nicht möglich sein, durch Gesellschaftsspiele, die mit hoher Motivation von Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen gespielt werden, einen Bezug zum Drama herzustellen, wodurch das Verständnis dessen erleichtert werden könnte? Damit soll mit dieser Arbeit die Frage beantwortet werden, ob und auf welche Weise es möglich ist, mit Hilfe von Gesellschaftsspielen die Fähigkeit zur Dramenrezeption zu fördern. Um dies zu leisten, wird die vorliegende Arbeit in zwei Schwerpunkte gegliedert. Im ersten, literaturwissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkt sollen vor allem die theoretischen Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede der Begriffe Drama und Spiel in Zusammenhang mit einschlägigen Dramentheorien erarbeitet werden.
