About the Book

The Dreampickers zoom in > Millions of light years away, in the Akaash galaxy, a freak accident claims the life of the mighty Emperor Zire and Queen Shinkora, who leave behind their only son, Prince Kaal, in the able hands of the loyal and benevolent Priest August. Priest August grooms the prince, befitting his royal entity and bestows upon him, supernatural powers, which he had acquired after years of prayer and meditation. In spite of his best efforts, Priest August is unable to change the course of destiny, which draws Kaal towards the Dark Asteroid, home to the banished and abominable Space Urchins - Looka and Shooka. The Urchins unscrupulously offer the Elixir Noxious, laced with a potent neurotoxin to the unsuspecting and depressed Prince. The toxin gradually embeds into the decision making centers of his brain, creating vitriolic thoughts in his mind. From then on, these despicable twins control the wits and psyche of the crown prince of the greatest empire in the universe. In the years to come, Kaal harnesses the forces of evil to spread pain, death and destruction in the inhabited world. Empowered by the mystical Scepter of Light, the Lamas of Izox, summon the Dreampickers, to instill the will of the Supreme Being into all pious souls, to create peace and harmony in the cosmos. On Earth, Special Officers Rudra and Tulpi are rescued from the midst of a ravaging battle and transported to Izox. They return with divine powers to form the first line of defense against the evil designs of Kaal and his army of Dark Angels who have set upon themselves to stop "The Vaayoo", (a 10,000 year old book of magical chants, capable of reversing all ecological upsets on Earth) from reaching Saint Tuka, the only person capable of deciphering this sacred manuscript. Do Rudra and Tulpi succeed in stopping Kaal or do they succumb to the all powerful master of evil?
About the Author: Presenting, Dr.Rahul Bihari An avid story teller from the very beginning, Rahul was often invited to narrate his creations in the very popular story telling classes at school. Under the able guidance of his litterateur Principal and outstanding English teachers, most of whom were from England, Rahul developed a special affinity for the written word. The recipient of several accolades in English speaking and writing, Rahul was elected President of the Literary Society. He soon became editor of the school magazine and was inevitably the Master of Ceremonies at all school functions Dr.Rahul Bihari graduated to be a dental surgeon from Mysore University in 1996 and joined a dental school as lecturer. Besides treating patients and lecturing, he also became editor of the college magazine "The Explorer". Rahul gave vent to his creativity in the form of several innovations pertaining to dentistry for e.g. a tooth extraction machine, which was selected by the National Innovation Foundation in a nation wide competition, and a new type of rotary cutting instrument for tooth structure. Rahul tested his competency in English by scoring highly, in all internationally recognized tests of English Language viz. IELTS, OET and TOEFL. His grandfather Late Mr.Vijan Braj Bihari cast an indelible impression on Rahul's life. He was a metallurgical engineer, who went on to become an ardent freedom fighter in colonial India. A childhood friendship with an enlightened saint, encouraged him to forge strong bonds with spirituality and meditation. His quest for the supernatural, took him to several mystics and saints across the length and breadth of the country. After retiring from his professional life, he came to The Dalai Lama, and finally embraced Tibetan Buddhism. He was the first Indian to be ordained as a Lama by His Holiness's guru himself and came to be known as Lama Thupten Chosdar. During his early childhood, his grandfather, whom he lovingly called 'Baba', introduced him to the psychic realm of Tibetan mysticism through his fascinating bedtime stories, heavily laced with elements of the paranormal. This background strengthened by his own experiences of the latter, inspired him to write his debut novel - "The Dreampickers"
