About the Book

The Divine Divas. Three beautiful young professional women, each looking for her romantic Prince Charming in a world filled with warts and ugly toads. Lorainna, a pediatrician, is drawn to Ryan, who is Big Brother to Xavier, victim of a broken home, only to find a wedding ring on his finger. Victimized by a sadistic policeman, Lorainna seeks counseling only to meet Spencer, Ryan's brother, who falls for the young doctor. Trouble is - although attracted to Spencer - it is Ryan she loves. The triangle resolves itself in the most unexpected manner, but only after many trials, tribulations and broken hearts. Meanwhile, Lucy and Candace, the other twosome of the 'divine divas', experience ups and downs of their own in their pursuit of love and happiness. It is only when the three seek divine intervention that true happiness is found and their lives reach their zenith.
About the Author: In my early years, I was considered somewhat of a nerd. Not very popular in school, reading and playing with dolls became my outlet. Pretending and creating stories with my dolls were my favorite past times. Luckily, I had a friend who indulged in this hobby along with me. This vivid imagination and creativity continued all through Elementary School-always the long-winded child with an opinion on everything. Later, formulating thoughts in the form of journaling came quite naturally for me. Before long, I'd already written a compilation of inspirational poems and meditations. Being an avid writer carried me through my college years. Taking an assortment of courses, from Mass Media, Psychology to Anthropology, empowered me to be able to better communicate and express ideas. Transferring to Brooklyn College in the early 90's, changed my life. There, I majored in English and Secondary Education. In the interim, as a pastor's daughter, I was heavily involved in church. Our church and its affiliates produced several youth and cultural magazines, for which I wrote and co-edited. My first teaching experience was at daycare in Queens. Writing has always been a hobby, but my career was teaching. I both excelled in and had a great love of the field. Nothing is more fulfilling than impacting lives. Before college graduation, I was offered a position at a Bilingual Center. There, I worked three jobs; daycare, after school and teaching ESL in the evening to adults. Eventually, I was offered a full-time teaching position at a public school in Brooklyn. In the interim, I experimented writing my first full novel. I wrote it in a Spiral Notebook, manually. I still have the original manuscript hand-written and all. It's called, Providence In Love. After teaching three years at the school, I did not return to teaching Sept of 99'. It had been my intention to take a little time off, but this sabbatical would last a lot longer than I'd planned. It was during that time I cultivated writing and wrote more novels. In 2005, I moved out to Long Island, to be closer to my nephew, whom I'd cared for since he was an infant. In 09', I began working for one of their school districts as a Substitute Teacher. The same year, I was also offered a position in the ER of a hospital out on Long Island. So, my time for writing and editing has become very limited. Still, I've maintained my hobby and continue to build on what I believe to be my true calling.
