In The Education of Little Me, established visual artist Nancy Hilliard Joyce, dives into her past to uncover the dynamics of growing up as a passionate artist raised by traditional yet creative parents. She reveals the decisions and the actions her parents took to reach a child solely motivated by passion rather than purpose. As she sorts through patterns of failures and successes, within both her education and formative years, this brings to light a balance of truth and intrinsic motivation which she finally uncovers as a young adult.
The Education of Little Me benefits parents struggling with children who demonstrate more passion than life purpose. It gives parents, educators, and students a new perspective and also provides real-life examples that positively affected and made indisputable differences in an overly passionate child's life, without smoldering the fire of creativity.
"Reflecting upon a lifetime of failures, I began to realize that with each disappointment there were even greater benefits. I, therefore, accepted that the only way to accelerate my learning and to reach my true potential was to continue taking calculated risks." - Nancy Hilliard Joyce
