Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Philosophie - Praktische (Ethik, Ästhetik, Kultur, Natur, Recht, ...), Note: 1,3, Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Schon seit Jahrhunderten beschäftigt sich der Mensch mit der Frage, inwiefern die Gestaltung der Tier-Mensch Beziehung wirklich aussehen sollte. So gilt beispielsweise der Hund oder die Katze als Gefährte und bester Freund des Menschen, wohingegen die Kuh oder das Schwein in Intensivtierhaltung explizit für die Fleischproduktion gehalten und für den menschlichen Verzehr getötet werden. Gerade hierbei zeigt sich der Unterschied zwischen geliebtem Haustier und dem Nutztier als Fleischlieferant, wobei Uneinigkeit herrscht wie konkret mit dem Tierwohl umgegangen werden muss, gerade in Bezug auf die Nutztierhaltung spalten sich die Meinungen. In Bezug auf das Tierwohl muss jedoch auch vermehrt auf die Tierversuche eingegangen werden, wie ein aktuelles Beispiel aus Deutschland zeigt. So berichten die Medien über Misshandlungen an Affen und Hunden in einem Versuchslabor in der Nähe von Hamburg. Ein Aktivist habe hierbei aufdecken können, welche Qualen den Tieren zugefügt wurden. Es wird von schreienden Affen und blutverschmierten Hunden berichtet, außerdem seien "Wirbeltieren in Mienenbüttel erhebliche und länger anhaltende Schmerzen zugefügt oder sie außerhalb eines laufenden Versuches und damit ohne tragfähigen Grund getötet worden [...]." Ähnlich wie in der Intensivtierhaltung werden die Tiere in den Versuchslaboren und medizinischen Forschungseinrichtungen zum Zweck des menschlichen Wohls gehalten und getötet. Die Frage nach dessen moralischen Rechtfertigung wird dabei nur selten berücksichtigt, da die Priorität meistens darin besteht, Profit zu erlangen und dem Menschen in irgendeiner Art zu nutzen, egal ob dies auf Kosten des Tierwohls geschieht. Hierbei betont Johann S. Ach, dass Tierversuche zu unterschiedlichen Zwecken durchgeführt werden, zu höheren und niederen Zwecken
