Um den Flugverkehr der Zukunft nachhaltiger zu gestalten, ist es notig, die Effizienz von Flugtriebwerken zu erhohen. Dadurch konnen die CO2-Emissionen, die Stickoxide (NOx), aber auch die Gerauschemissionen reduziert werden. Der thermische Wirkungsgrad eines Triebwerks wird primar uber das Gesamtdruckverhaltnis und die Turbineneintrittstemperatur bestimmt. Aber auch der Kuhlluftbedarf, der zur aktiven Kuhlung der Komponenten im Heissgaspfad benotigt wird, beeinflusst den thermischen Wirkungsgrad. Diese Kuhlluft wird dem Verdichter entnommen und betragt bis zu 30% des Gesamtmassenstroms des Kerntriebwerks. Dadurch kann ein nicht zu vernachlassigender Anteil des Gesamtmassenstroms nicht am thermodynamischen Prozess teilnehmen. Eine Reduktion dieses Kuhlluftbedarfs fuhrt zu einer direkten Erhohung des thermischen Wirkungsgrads. Diese Arbeit schafft eine Datenbasis zur Entwicklung verbesserter Transitions- und Rauheitsmodelle. Hierzu wird unter anderem der Einfluss der turbulenten Langenmasse auf die Startstelle der Transition untersucht. Neben der Freistromturbulenz wird eine systematische Variation der Oberflachenrauheit inkl. deren Warmeleitfahigkeit durchgefuhrt. An glatten Oberflachen wird erstmals die Entstehung und Ausbreitung von Turbulenzflecken mit einem hochauflosenden Heissfilmsensorarray untersucht. Diese Untersuchung ermoglicht einzigartige Einblicke in die Mechanismen der Transition. Weiterhin werden auf Basis dieser neuen Erkenntnisse zum Einfluss rauer Oberflachen auf Grenzschichtstromungen Korrelationen fur die Startstelle der Transition und den turbulenten Warmeubergang an rauen Oberflachen entwickelt.
