Damit wird erneut ein erheblicher Schritt in Richtung computergestützter Unterricht mit digitalen Medien unternommen. Meinungen zu dieser Entwicklung divergie-ren dabei erheblich. Neben allgemeiner Skepsis macht sich in vielen Schulen ebenfalls Euphorie bereit. So wird das interaktive Whiteboard beispielsweise als "Werkzeugkasten" beschrieben mit dem "Lehrende [...] in allen Unterrichtsphasen zusätzliche Möglichkeiten [haben], um den Unterricht interessanter, anschaulicher und schließlich effektiver zu ge-stalten" (Kohls 2010, S. 7). Ob und wie das interaktive Whiteboard durch seinen Einsatz den Lehr- und Lernprozess bereichern kann, soll in dieser schriftlichen Arbeit näher betrachtet werden und wird an-schließend am Beispiel einer Realschule kritisch überprüft. Nach der APVO-Lehr II liegt die Schwerpunktsetzung dieser schriftlichen Arbeit damit nach Anlage §2 Abs. 1 und §9 Abs. 1 APVO-Lehr im Kompetenzbereich 1, in den Teilbereichen 1.2.3 und 1.2.4. Da der Fokus der Betrachtung auf den didaktischen Stellenwert des in Deutschland relativ neuen technischen Mediums gelegt wird, richtet sich der Blickpunkt gleichzeitig auf das Gegenstandsfeld der Mediendidaktik. Diese kann als Teilbereich der allgemeinen Didaktik verstanden werden (vgl. Kapitel 1.2) und baut damit auf den formellen, informellen und organisierten Lehr- und Lernprozess auf (vgl. Kron/Sofos 2003, S. 46). Die Mediendidaktik befasst sich hierbei stets mit der Frage, wie das Lernen mit Medien, in diesem Fall mit dem interaktiven Whiteboard, optimiert werden kann.
