About the Book

Nacido en las faldas del Yunque, Puerto Rico, en 1942, el autor emigró a la ciudad de Nueva York en 1959. Se estableció en el Greenwich Village hasta hoy, donde ha desarrollado una amplia labor como pintor, poeta e investigador.

En el Village, el barrio bohemio y cultural de Nueva York, Carrasquillo conoció a grandes artistas, convivió con ellos, y con algunos, diríamos que con los mejores, estableció estrecha amistad. Tanto que puede hoy decir que Louise Neverson y Francis Steloff, "son mis maestras de toda la vida".

La influencia que recibió de estas dos mujeres, matriarcas de la literatura, y de la pintura, le marcaron para siempre y a ellas debe la creación de "La Vida Secreta de Tony".

En la Vida Secreta de Tony se marca la diferencia de la literatura Latinoamérica, se trilla otro camino con la narrativa innovadora y apasionante.

Graduado de Seminario Teológico Latinoamericano con altos honores, habiendo sido seleccionado "Estúdiate del Año" en 1972, mismo año de su graduación.

En el año 1992 la International Society of Poets, premió su poema "Somebody is looking" (Alguien nos mira) con US$ 5000 al Mejor Poeta de Año y el derecho a la publicación de un libro de poesías, por tal motivo fue seleccionado como "Poeta de Año" por la misma entidad.

Es invitado por la prestigiosa agencia literaria Scott Meredith, una de las más importantes de los Estados Unidos, para entrar en su programa de descubrimiento de nuevos valores.

En el año 1995 el señor Mark Sullivan, reconocido agente literal por sus descubrimientos de los nuevos valores dice de su trabajo: "Me ha impresionado su narrativa y tiene potencial para competir en el mercado internacional. Hay un fuerte dramatismo en su narración, la cual me gustó mucho y me gustaría que usted se sumara al grupo de escritores que yo represento".
