About the Book

This notion/perspective portrays the body as a complex and perfect structure that assembles everything, such as a social construct of shared dependencies. In the need to maintain a homeostasis (a balance that makes possible the survival of the organism or society), the body develops in a dialogical discourse between its interior and the context or, between the individual and the environment. The artwork in this exhibition seeks to establish a dialogue between anatomical parts and foreign geometric structures, between its clinical anatomical description and the added concept, and between a real story and a fictional one. The bodies reveal the intricacy of their economy, and the society its inherent complexity. In this exhibition, the city is represented as a receptacle of realities and social conflicts through the body and the consequences that the context provokes on it.In this collection of images, there are works from different periods of my production linked by a dialogue between the body and the context, always trying to provoke with the representations, the objects, the theme and their own discourses, all that entails, to the reflections, that make it possible, through art, to find meaning in what happens in the environment, with its agreements and divergences. The human body in this exercise of lines, forms and concepts, erases borders. Although the lines, forms and concepts illustrate an imaginary, they are useless to describe the anatomical topographies that were useful as guides to the doctors in the past. Here I seek other readings and that they also serve as a witness for the reflection on the abysmal borders that fracture societies.
