Sinopsis

En el mar de la nada es un ensayo sobre filosofía tomista a la luz de los últimos acontecimientos que han configurado la posmodernidad. Recurrir a la filosofía escolástica de Santo Tomás se revela como un antídoto eficaz frente a la decadencia de nuestros tiempos, frente al desenlace fatal de la modernidad en la posmodernidad, que no es sino su expresión más exacerbada y nihilista. Tradición frente a modernidad, Metafísica del Ser frente a contra-metafísica nihilista de la nada.

El propio autor, Curzio Nitoglia, nos transmite sus intenciones y el valor de la filosofía del Aquinate en unas pocas líneas:

La filosofía de Santo Tomás permanecerá siempre actual, porque, en el actual desorden y desbandada intelectual y moral, conserva aquellas verdades inmutables sin las cuales es imposible hacerse una idea justa de la realidad fenoménica y ultra-fenoménica, siendo una defensa racional del valor real de los primeros principios del sentido común.

Los principios del tomismo superan aquellos del aristotelismo y son originales, ellos son la filosofía del ser en el sentido fuerte del término, en cuanto última actualidad de todos los actos y suprema perfección de todas las perfecciones. Por ello solo el tomismo puede ser portador del remedio contra el desorden intelectual y moral y la inestabilidad del espíritu que caracteriza la época posmoderna.
