Henricus - Edition Deutsche Klassik GmbH Über den Autor: 1874 in Wien als einziges Kind in eine nobilitierte Industriellenfamilie hineingeboren, studiert Hugo Laurenz August Hofmann von Hofmannsthal zunächst Jura und dann französische Philologie in Wien. 1901 entscheidet er sich nach bereits eingereichter Habilitationsschrift gegen den bürgerlichen Beruf des Professors und wird freier Schriftsteller.
