About the Book

Kaelin Martin's ancestors were sailors from the founding of the Realm. Now, the young seafarer has forsaken his family's history and joined the War Order. Much to the consternation of his parents, he now trains to become a soldier. His mission is to guard the human race from their traditional enemies: trolls and dwarves. The world is at war, and the young man feels called to defend his homeland more than honor is heritage. Goldleaf Terrorthorn is the finest young elf archer to be seen in generations. His heart burns with anger at the recently signed peace treaty with the humans. The elf now looks for purpose, convinced the fragile reconciliation is temporary as he is thrust in the middle of his people's age old enemies. Aeneria is a world where every sentient being can learn magic. Armies of stout warriors use sorcery to enhance their bodies and weapons. The hands of the gods touch the world every day, shaping it to the benefit their loyal worshipers. "A definite must read for battle enthusiasts!" Dennis Montoya, coauthor of Over the Dragonwall "What's not to love about magic, elves, dragons and something dark that brews just beyond the horizon?!" M.S. Murray, author of Cassie: Black Sand and coauthor of Silver Bells, Curses and Spells "Empires of the Dead is like a cuisine crafted by a master chef. Its ingredients are part Game of Thrones, part Lord of the Rings, a pinch of Deadliest Catch, a dash of Clash of the Titans, and then mix with Eyes of the Dragon. You get a story you can sink your teeth into!" Dawn Authier, author of Life Gives Me Gas and Bitter Pill
About the Author: When most everyone fawned over prancing, sparkling vampires, Al toiled away writing about zombies. Fantasy zombies, western zombies, zombies and more zombies. To say that zombies are an obsession of his is an understatement. Very few zombie movies have escaped his cadaverous eye. A little known secret: when he was 12, he thought he was HP Lovecraft reincarnated. A lifelong resident of Lewiston, Idaho, Al graduated from Lewiston High School and Lewis-Clark State College in his hometown. He spent the last twenty seven years working with children with emotional and behavioral problems and training other professionals to do the same. Recently, his career path switched from non-profit residential treatment to a state juvenile correction facility. In his free time Al trains in martial arts, plays paintball, tells his rescued cats to get off the counter, is a wargame/roleplay nerd, consumes large quantities of Thai food unapologetically, and is a connoisseur of fine dining: Arby's. He loves music and regularly attends concerts. Favorites include Tantric, Theory of a Deadman, Rob Zombie, Nickelback, Disturbed, and the Offspring. Montana and the Oregon coast are frequent destinations. His biggest accomplishment is his 18 year old son. Considered by some to be the neighborhood curmudgeon, he wears this title as a badge of honor. He hates writing autobiographies. Al is the author of the Permuted Press paranormal thrillers Hellgate, Montana and Retributor: Hellgate, Montana Book 2. He also penned Mists of the Miskatonic, The Chronicles of Dorian Christianson: Nephilim, and coauthored Kinemortophobia: Zombie Dreams for Sleepless Nights with his childhood friend, John Reed. The third book in the Hellgate, Montana trilogy will be released soon: Salt Lake City: Hellgate, Montana Book 3. Published short stories include Fire Team by Knightwatch Press, Goddess by Gorillas with Scissors Press, and Keeping Score by Indigo Mosaic.
