Vor allem bei kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen, die einen Großteil der Erwerbstätigen in Deutschland beschäftigen, haben im Kampf gegen die Bewerber bzw. Absolventen einen schweren Stand. Viele Absolventen von der Universität möchten gerne zu Großunternehmen wie Lufthansa, Audi, Siemens oder Schaeffler. Diese Großkonzerne können den Bewerbern beziehungsweise Absolventen viel bieten und haben einen großen Vorteil aufgrund Ihre bekannte Unternehmensmarke. Aber auch der Mittelstand kann hohe Qualitäten für den Bewerber bieten und diese mittels richtigen Kommunikations- und Personalmaßnahmen auch davon zu überzeugen. Die vorliegende Arbeit erklärt die Umsetzung von Employer Branding bei kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen und untersucht die Frage ob dies aufgrund der hohen Kosten und Ressourcen, lediglich für Großkonzerne geeignet ist. Es wird zu aller erst eine theoretische Grundlage geschaffen, bei der Employer Branding definiert wird und einige zentrale Begriffe von kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen erklärt werden. Eine Analyse und Herausforderungen, vor dem die kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (nachfolgend KMU genannt) stehen, werden herausgestellt, um darauf aufbauend ein Prozessmodell mit verschiedenen Wirkungsfeldern darzustellen. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, zugeschnitten auf die Charakteristik von KMU geeignete Maßnahmen hinsichtlich Employer Branding zu entwerfen, die eine Attraktivität für die potenziellen Bewerber schafft und KMU als Top-Arbeitgeber favorisiert wird.
