About the Book

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is one of the most confusing and difficult laws US employers have ever had to face. It is thousands of pages long and changes constantly. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the IRS will collect approximately $130 Billion dollars from employers who fail to comply with the law over the next 10 years. Fortunately, the Employer's Guide to Obamacare is here to help business owners navigate the minefield.

In The Employer's Guide to Obamacare, attorney and business strategist, Kaya Bromley uses plain English, humor and a no-nonsense approach to teach employers exactly what they need to know to comply with the law. She breaks the law down into easy-to-understand concepts so that employers will easily obtain a working knowledge of the ACA mandates.

More importantly, this book moves employers beyond mere compliance to finding opportunities and thinking strategically. Because of the ACA, many employers are learning how to re-think their businesses and create new profit centers. Now you can get in on their secrets.

In this book, you will learn the answers to these questions:
  • Do I have to offer my employees insurance?
  • What will happen if I don't do anything?
  • How do I avoid the $2,000 per employee and the $3,000 per employee penalties?
  • How do I avoid the $100 per employee per day penalty?
  • Is it better to pay the penalty than offer insurance?
  • What kind of insurance do I have to offer?
  • What can I do if the IRS assesses me penalties incorrectly?
  • How can I prepare for an audit?
  • How are businesses creating profit centers by complying with the ACA?
  • How have businesses saved hundreds of thousands of dollars already?
  • And much more...

About the Author:

Kaya Bromley is an attorney, speaker, author and recognized business strategist. She is the founder and CEO of Your Obamacare Advisors (YOA) and has been recognized for her work in developing FreedomCare Benefits, a state-of-the-art, Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant program for large employers. Kaya's first book, The Obamacare Roadmap, was published in 2013 to critical acclaim. In her second book, The Employer's Guide to Obamacare, Kaya moves employers beyond mere compliance to strategic thinking, finding the opportunities within the ACA.

As trustee of California's largest restaurant workers comp self-insured group and part-owner of two Tropical Smoothie CafÈs located in Michigan, Kaya knows firsthand what employers experience. Her gift of simplifying complex concepts has assisted hundreds of organizations in designing and implementing individualized strategic plans for the ACA, including insurance companies, brokers, farm labor contractors, payroll companies, as well as franchisees of McDonald's, Burger King, El Pollo Loco, Five Guys and Carl's Jr. Previously, Kaya served as General Counsel for the Marco's Pizza Franchise and as the Executive Director of the National Jack-in-the-Box Franchisee Association, where she learned innovative approaches to handling insurance, finance, deal-making, negotiation and more. Always seeing opportunities instead of obstacles, Kaya married her knowledge of the ACA to her business know-how, allowing her to help clients comply with Obamacare and take advantage of profitable opportunities that it can provide.

A second-generation entrepreneur and Detroit-area native, Kaya continues to hold an equity position in a for-profit dental supply business. She is also an inventor who holds a patent on a hands-free teeth-whitening product. Kaya earned her undergraduate and master's degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit, before graduating with honors from Michigan State University Law School. She currently lives with her husband and daughter in the Lake Tahoe/Reno area of Nevada and maintains strong business ties in the San Francisco Bay area.
