About the Book

Enchanted, the complete stories of Flordelisa Mota is a literary event. They are brought together for the first time in a single volume. Here are nine outstanding fictional stories written to please the readers of this new millennium.Poems of Nature has established her, with others, in the front category of the century's poets. Now her stories arouse out of a mosaic of different races, languages and beliefs.

"Chasing a Fiend" open the door of enchantment and mystifying events in the life of General William Williams. A veteran of the Vietnam War he fell in love with Summer: she is an illusion. To be with her for ever, General Williams must defeat the evil fiend Winter. In Quebec City, the monster appeared. The ending is explosive in human feelings.

"Bushwick's Street Tales" is the story of Santos, whose tranquility is disturbed by the appearance of Nora; the shabby building in Brooklyn is the scenery where love, delusion and a battered wife make the perfect balance for an intensified drama. Santos' schizophrenia makes the story human and intangible at once.

"The Parrot Without Wings" is the story of an international thieves' organization planning a robbery from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. A Moroccan looks through the majestic façade of the building, trying to figure out how to get inside. Beatrice is the key, also the victim.

"To be Free" is a hilarious love affair between two lighted candles. Flame and Fire fall in love. They live in the palace of Countess Frances. They plan to escape from the palace, but before they can they have to pass trough "Starry Light," a priceless Vincent van Gogh Masterpiece. The readers will be driven into fantasy by the tenderness of the characters.

"Museum of Sand" is a story deeply connected with emigrants. For those who have left their homeland, this story will bring tears and joy. Angela Maria's vision of the Egyptian Lady is moving. The brutal assassination of Mexico's Police Commissioner impelled her to leave her country abruptly. It is a story about the few, to the delight of many.

"Miss John" a beautiful girl's destiny is changed by her father when he chose a masculine name for her. This name molds her character and makes her vulnerable to blackmail. Miss John is an emotional story. Its beauty and ending is unsuspected.

"The Secret" this story involves a mystery. With the background of 34th street and 6th Avenue, the plot reveals a homeless woman's dark life, and her insanity. Tanzía emerges as a princess from a foreign country. What a surprise for her when the dummy in a department store opens its eyes and lips become alive, speaking Tanzía's dialect. Amazing in beauty yet extravagant in details.

"Santa" a story of tradition and superstition. Mr. Peralta, a patriarchal and powerful tyrant of his family. Santa, a delicate girl in love with a man who wants an impossible dream to have a son. The double face of truth becomes visible, and the strength of their characters makes it powerful. The story explores passionately the universal themes of love, betrayal, and survival.

"They Were Amphibious" is based on a true story. The narrative is a trip to the past when airplanes landed on water. The readers, and specially the "baby boomers," will feel the nostalgia of Pan Am Clipper-the Sikorsky S40- and how aviation started in the Caribbean with tragedy. The sacrifice of a man, who was determined to be part of an effort of bringing civilization to a remote island, will motivate the readers' emotions. An exciting story about survival in an inhospitable surrounding. Robert runs to save his niece's life. He gives it all.
