I have been overweight since I was a kid, and had a hard time losing weight and keeping it off. I had developed type 2 diabetes in my 40s. In my 50s I became quite ill with all the complications of diabetes: uncontrolled blood sugar, high blood pressure, and inflammation, which made it painful to move around. Encounter Weight Loss taught me how to eat real food, and making sure I had proper nutrition made me feel so much healthier. I began to understand the issues around food that caused me to emotionally eat, and learning new skills to deal with these issues was something I had never experienced in any other weight loss program before.
