Urlaub mit den Eltern kann so langweilig sein. Die beiden Fhernhachen-Kinder Ensel und Krete erleben das am eigenen Leibe, als sie mit ihren Eltern den zamonischen Großen Wald bereisen. Dabei hatten sie gehofft, dort endlich einmal etwas zu erleben! Und so ziehen sie auf eigene Faust los, um das Abenteuer zu suchen, verlaufen sich jedoch nach kurzer Zeit. Damit nimmt ein rasantes Marchenabenteuer seinen Lauf, bei dem selbst den Gebrudern Grimm bald die Puste ausgegangen ware. Die beiden Zwergenkinder treffen auf zahlreiche gefahrliche oder einfach nur sonderbare Gescho einen Laubwolf, Erdgnomchen, Geheimbaren, Fledertratten, Schuhus, Einhornchen, einen sprechenden Meteor und allerlei andere Seltsamkeiten. Naturlich finden auch ein Hexenhaus, und der fantasievolle Showdown hat mehr mit dem Blair Witch Project als mit unseren alten Hausmarchen gemeinsam. Erzahlt wird die Geschichte ubrigens vom beruchtigsten Dichter Zamoniens, Hildegunst von Mythenmetz, einem tausend Jahre alten, aufrecht gehenden Zwergsaurier, der die Handlung -- meist an ihren spannendsten Stellen -- unterbricht, um weiterfuhrende Erlauterungen zu geben, die sogar noch interessanter und witziger sind als die Handlung selbst. Diesem Stilmittel lieh der Dichter sogar seinen die "Mythenmetzsche Abschweifung". Und so erfahrt man ganz nebenbei haarstraubende Details uber zamonische Zahlensysteme, die sieben Grundtugenden des Dichters oder auch Insiderinformationen uber den zamonischen Literaturbetrieb. Abgerundet wird das Buch durch die halbe Biografie des Hildegunst von Mythenmetz unter dem Titel "Von der Lindwurmfeste zum Bloxberg". Auf die Frage, wieso dieses Buch keine direkte Fortsetzung von Die 13 1/2 Leben des Kapt'n Blaubar sei, antwortete Walter "Das hat verschiedene Grunde. Erstens glaube ich, dass ein Buch mit uber 700 Seiten fur eine Figur genugen sollte. Zweitens war fur mich schon beim ersten Buch der eigentliche Held nicht der Blaubar, sondern der Kontinent Zamonien. Dessen Geschichte -- und die seiner Bewohner -- mochte ich weitererzahlen, in alle moglichen Richtungen." Und so besteht die Hoffnung, dass es auch weitere Zamonien-Bucher geben wird, selbst wenn Walter Moers die zweiten 13 1/2 Leben des Kapt'n Blaubar im Dunklen lasst. --Hardy Kettlitz
