Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: 1,0, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Institut für theaterwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Theorie und Geschichte des Harlekins, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: als eine "bahnbrechende, monumentale Studie" bezeichnet: von Norbert Elias .Erika Fischer-Lichte hat mit "Theater im Prozeß der Zivilisation" eine Theatergeschichte vorgelegt, die unter dem Blickwinkel der Körpergeschichte verfasst wurde und auf wesentlichen Erkenntnissen von Norbert Elias Theoriegebäude aus "Über den Prozeß der Zivilisation" basiert. Somit schafft Fischer-Lichte eine Verbindung zwischen Elias sozialhistorischen Theorien und dem Theater als historisches Phänomen. Ich möchte diese Verbindung nutzen, um die Entwicklung der Narrenfigur im Theater Frankreichs und des heiligen römischen Reiches deutscher Nation in dem Zeitraum miteinander zu vergleichen, der für die weitere Entwicklung beider Staaten grundlegend war: das 18. Jahrhundert. Ich werde dazu die Schlußfolgerungen von Elias zu den verschiedenen Entwicklungstendenzen beider Staatengebilde und dessen bürgerlicher Gesellschaft als sich entwickelnder gesellschaftlicher Willensträger als Basis verwenden und überprüfen, ob sich seine Ergebnisse auf die Entwicklung des Narren als theaterspezifisches Phänomen übertragen lassen. Mein Vorgehen wird dabei folgendermaßen aussehen: zuerst werde ich kurz die mögliche Funktion des Narren im Theater dieser Zeit in Bezug auf den Zivilisationsprozeß darstellen. Daran schließt sich die Analyse der Entwicklung des Narren im französischen Theater an. Ich habe dafür zwei Stücke von Marivaux ausgewählt die im Théatre italien im ersten Drittel des 18. Jahrhundert aufgeführt wurden, "Arlequin poli par l´amour" (1720) und "La double inconstance" (1723). Danach möchte ich zu der Entwicklung des Narren im deutschen Theater der zweiten Hälfte des 18 Jahrhunderts übergehen, wobei ich mich vor allem auf Justus Mösers "Harlekin oder Vert
