Welche Lehrmethode ist lernwirksamer? Mit der Frage der Lernwirksamkeit wird sich immer wieder im Rahmen der Unterrichtsforschung beschäftigt. Dabei gibt die Lernwirksamkeit von bestimmten Unterrichts-methoden oder Lehrmedien - um es allgemeiner zu bezeichnen: die Lernwirksamkeit einer pädagogisch-didaktischen Intervention - an, ob sie bei den Schülern einen Lernzuwachs (Lerngewinn) bewirkt hat oder nicht. Eine lernwirksame Intervention sollte demnach zu einer positiven Veränderung der Lernleistung führen. Die Erfassung dieser Veränderung sollte möglichst objektiv, gültig und zuverlässig erfolgen. Gegenüber anderen Beurteilungsmethoden wie beispielsweise dem Lehrerurteil kommt dabei der Anwendung von psychometrischen Tests die bedeutsamste Rolle zu (vgl. u.a. Ingenkamp, 1970, S. 1007f., Raatz, 1978, S. 187f). Unter einem Test verstehen Lienert und Raatz (1998) "... ein wissenschaftliches Routineverfahren zur Untersuchung eines oder mehrerer empirisch abgrenzbarer Persönlichkeitsmerkmale mit dem Ziel einer möglichst quantitativen Aussage über den relativen Grad der individuellen Merkmalsausprägung". Meist können die bereits vorhandenen, im Handel erhältlichen Tests nicht für die Messung der Lernwirksamkeit einer bestimmten pädagogisch-didaktischen Intervention verwendet werden, da diese eher allgemein und nicht auf die speziellen Inhalte zugeschnitten sind, die durch die Intervention vermittelt werden sollen. In diesem Fall müssen Tests entwickelt werden, die sich direkt auf die Intervention beziehen. Dabei stellt sich dann die Frage, wie man bei der Konstruktion eines solchen Tests vorgehen sollte und was es zu beachten gilt.
