Doch was zeichnet einen talentierten Menschen aus? Wie und mit welchen Maßnahmen können identifizierte Talente gefördert und eingesetzt werden? In Zeiten des Fachkräftemangels sind Talente hart umkämpft und zwar nicht erst seit den 1990er Jahren, als die Unternehmensberatung McKinsey den legendären Begriff des "War for Talents" prägte (Faix & Mergenthaler 2009, S. 15). Der "War for Talents" bezeichnet den Kampf der Unternehmen um Talente und High Potentials, die als zukünftige Kompetenzträger der Unternehmung angesehen werden (Freund 2009, S. 446). Was bedingt diesen Krieg um die besten Potenziale auf dem Arbeitsmarkt? Zum einen führt der demographische Wandel dazu, dass die Bevölkerung in Deutschland abnimmt, die Gesellschaft durch den Geburtenrückgang stetig älter wird und dadurch letztendlich das Angebot an Arbeitskräften zurückgeht. Doch die Nachfrage nach qualifizierten Arbeitskräften bleibt bestehen (Freund 2009, S. 446f.). Dieses Ungleichgewicht führt nun dazu, dass die Unternehmen, um die besten Talente am Markt kämpfen müssen, um in Zukunft selber am Markt erhalten bleiben zu können. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass Deutschland im Vergleich zum OECD Durchschnitt eine relativ geringe Akademikerquote nachweist und zugleich die Bereitschaft der deutschen Hochqualifizierten stetig steigt das Land zu verlassen (Faix & Mergenthaler 2009, S. 37). Zudem eruierte die Kienbaum Consultants International GmbH in ihrer Kienbaum-Studie High Potentials 2010/2011, dass von rund 530 befragten deutschen Unternehmen, über zwei Drittel von ihnen mehr als 25% der Wunschkandidaten nicht f
