Inhaltsangabe: Einleitung: Die modernen Dienstleistungs-Produktentwicklungs-Ansätze, die zentrales Thema der vorliegenden Arbeit sind, befassen sich nicht nur ausschließlich mit Entwicklungsverfahren, sondern beschäftigen sich zumeist auch mit dem kompletten Entwicklungssystem, um dadurch umfassende Lösungskonzepte für die Entwicklung von Produkten im Dienstleistungssektor bereitstellen zu können. Dieser Ansatz gilt um so mehr für Service Engineering, da es sich hierbei für viele Unternehmen um gänzlich neue Aufgabenstellungen handelt und deshalb insbesondere die Einführung und Integration der Dienstleistungsentwicklung in Unternehmen mit einer Reihe von offenen Fragestellungen verbunden ist. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit soll sein, ein neues Produkt für den Einlagenbereich der DaimlerChrysler Bank als Finanzdienstleister zu entwickeln und das Konzeptdes Service Engineering, die Systematik sowie die geeignete Methodik und die einzelnen Prozessschritte zu erläutern. Das Produkt ist für den Einlagenbereich bzw. auch Passivbereich genannt, (fest- oder variabel verzinslich) bestimmt. Zum besseren Verständnis des weiteren Textes soll an dieser Stelle der Begriff „Verzinsliche Wertpapiere" definiert werden. Die Verzinslichen Wertpapiere, oft auch Anleihen, Renten, Bonds, oder Obligationen genannt, sind auf den jeweiligen Inhaber bestimmte Schuldverschreibung; d. h. der Käufer solcher Schuldverschreibung besitzt eine Forderung gegenüber dem Emitenten. Gang der Untersuchung: Die Arbeit gliedert sich in zwei Teile; der erste Teil befasst sich mit allgemeinen und grundsätzlichen Einordnungen. So wird die DaimlerChrysler Bank mit ihrer Produktpalette (insbesondere der Einlagenbereich) vorgestellt. Des weiteren wird ausgeführt, dass die Produktentwicklung ein Teilaspekt des Marketings ist; das Dienstleistungsmarketing und im speziellen das Bankenmarketing für den Einlagenbereich wird vorgestellt.
