About the Book

Der er nok ikke mange der husker forfatteren Erik Frank Hansen. Sådan er livets vilkår. Der kommer nye generationer til der har deres egne idoler. Erik døde og hans bøger og virke døde med ham. Erik havde en hård barndom, med en psykopatisk, voldelig og alkoholisk stedfar der var tjener og en mor der var damefrisør og blev nedslidt af mand og arbejde og døde ung. Eriks voksenliv var også hårdt. Han kunne ikke finde sig til rette i samfundet. Han blev cykelbud, havnearbejder, fabriksarbejder, fængselsbetjent. Politisk var han kommunist, så socialdemokrat og så socialist. I 1978 døde Eriks kone kun 36 år gammel og han blev alenefar til tre små børn. Hans litterære løbebane begyndte med Anders And historier i 1973 for Gutenberghus. Han var en ihærdig kronikør, debattør, samfundskritiker og en af de sidste arbejderforfattere. I 1976 udgav han Mr. Gas & Co. En dagbogsroman. I 1979 kom bestselleren Stedfortræderen. Han har skrevet tekster til teater og revy og flere sange der er udgivet på CD af Andelsbandet i Fredericia bl.a. børnesange. Da han blev tørlagt alkoholiker, fik han kræft som 53-årig og døde i 2001, 61 år gammel. Men han beklagede sig aldrig over sit livets lod, men var lige til det sidste fuld af lun jysk humor og munter selvironi. Bogen er ikke kun en biografi men indeholder også uudgivne digte, sangtekster og noveller så vel som bidrag fra bl.a. Jørgen Buckholt, Kirsten Bjørnkjær, Erik Nørgaard, Henrik Ruben Genz, Jutta Bojsen-Møller, Lars Frederiksen, Hans Christian Nedobrowsky, LO og familie m.fl.
About the Author: Født den 4. juli 1947 i Nykøbing Falster. Uddannet som Klejnsmed og Maskinmester. Har sejlet med A. P. Møller Mærsk i 10 år og været bosat og arbejdet 20 år i Sydafrika, returnerende til Danmark i 1994. Har deltaget på en udvidet Forfatterskole 1997-1998 på Askov Højskole men debuterede først som forfatter i 2008 med digtsamlingen Panik før lukketid og har indtil videre udgivet 7 bøger, blandt andet bestselleren fra 2016 De fremmede og os Indvandringens historie i Danmark og den engelsksprogede digtsamling En maske af mange. Er gift og har to voksne børn og er bosat i Svendborg.
