Von der britischen Mandatszeit zum Nahostkonflikt, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit behandelt den ersten arabisch-israelischen Krieg und seine Folgen für die Palästinenser. Der Nahostkonflikt ist nicht erst mit der Gründung des Staates Israel aufgekommen, sondern trägt seine Wurzeln in der jüdischen Einwanderung und Ansiedlung nach Palästina, in dem die Palästinenser bereits ansässig waren. Die jüdische Immigration (Alijoth, Alijah), die aufgrund von Judenpogromen in Europa Ende der 1880er Jahre erfolgte, führte zu einem Konkurrenzkampf zwischen Arabern und Juden um Land und Ressourcen in Palästina. Zwischen 1882-1939 wanderten 380000 Juden aus Europa und der UdSSR nach Palästina ein und forderten eine jüdische Heimatstätte auf dem palästinensischen Gebiet, das seit 1922 von Großbritannien als Völkerrechtsmandat verwaltet wurde. Zum einen sorgten soziale Konflikte innerhalb der Gesellschaft zu Beginn der Industrialisierung in Russland dafür, dass sich diese gegen die Juden in antisemitischen Hetzen richteten. Zum anderen flüchteten die Juden aus Europa durch den Nationalsozialismus. Als Folge der tausenden displaced persons in Europa, die auf der Suche nach einer neuen Heimatstätte waren, bildeten sich die zionistischen Bestrebungen heraus einen Staat, mit dem biblischen Namen Eretz Israel, in Palästina zu gründen. Diese politisch notwendige Einwanderung nach Palästina war für Ben-Gurion und den zionistischen Vertretern das politische Mittel zur Legitimität für die Gründung eines souveränen Staates in Palästina und damit die arabische Bevölkerung von ihrem Land zu vertreiben. Somit lässt sich der Zionismus als Antwort auf den neuzeitlichen Antisemitismus interpretieren. Gleichzeitig war der 1948 gegründete Staat eine Reaktion auf die europäischen Pogrome
