Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Pädagogik, Sprachwissenschaft, Note: 1,3, Freie Universität Berlin (Institut für Deutsche und Niederländische Philologie), Veranstaltung: Kurze Prosa im Deutschunterricht, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Assassin's Creed ist ein von Ubisoft entwickeltes Computerspiel, das namensgebend für eine ganze Computerspielreihe und die dazugehörigen Adaptionen in anderen Medien geworden ist. 2007 wurde Assassin's Creed für Windows, Xbox 360 und Playstation 3 erstmals veröffentlicht. Mittlerweile sind insgesamt neun Hauptspiele, verschiedene Spin-Offs, Comics und Bücher mit Bezug zur Reihe erschienen. Assassin's Creed zeichnet sich durch einige charakteristische Spielelemente aus. So werden in entsprechenden Tests die interaktive, lebendig wirkende Spielwelt, die ansprechende Grafik, die Fähigkeiten der Hauptfigur sowie die überzeugende Handlung betont. Innerhalb des Spiels lassen sich sowohl eher spiel- als auch eher filmbetonte Sequenzen unterscheiden, die durch die Rahmenhandlung in eine kausale Reihenfolge gebracht werden. Auf diese narrativen Elemente legt die vorliegende Arbeit ihr Hauptaugenmerk, indem sie die den ersten Teil der Assassin's Creed-Reihe narratologisch analysiert. Da die Übertragung erzähltheoretischer Kategorien auf Computerspiele teilweise kritisiert wird, andererseits aber auch kein allgemein anerkanntes medienspezifisches Modell zur Computerspielnarratologie vorliegt, können methodische Überlegungen nicht ausgespart werden. Daher werden am Anfang des zweiten Abschnitts Einwände gegen eine Anwendung erzähltheoretischer Kategorien dargestellt und erläutert, wieso aus Sicht des Verfassers stattdessen eine Analyse mithilfe von filmnarratologischen Kategorien geboten ist. Auf Grundlage der Erkenntnisse der im zweiten Abschnitt durchgeführten Analyse soll in der Schlussbetrachtung abschließend auch auf mögliche Implikationen hinsichtlich der Integration von Assassin's Creed und vergleichbaren
