About the Book

Meet Jason Bellwether, world traveler, adventurer, and writer when necessary. Follow along with his exciting life as he travels to Africa to interview a rising women's clothing designer, Mandy Omaga. The meeting turns into attraction, the attraction into a chase all over South Africa as she runs away, always giving hints of where she will be next. They must be together, although she has a husband and a bodyguard that will stop at little to keep them apart. In the end, they plan to leave her country of birth, taking her two young children with them. Can they survive their mutual attraction, flight to the U.S., and become the family they want to be?
About the Author: H.R. McCoy was born in the rolling foothills and mountains of south-western Virginia, but the family moved to Maryland in the early 1950's. His much-loved hills and valleys were replaced by table-top flat land, marshes and water everywhere. Graduation from school was followed by an abortive attempt at college, a father trying to force a son into a preconceived life of academia that he refused to follow. Leaving college in the late 1960's, he started his own small business, but was soon a target of the armed services. Forced into the army, he spent a year carrying a machine gun in the delta area of Viet Nam, enduring the hardships of a recon platoon, and the insights into the human condition that would later help him in his writing career. He spent forty years working, paying the bills and repressing that book that insisted on forcing itself out. A bout with throat cancer, likely from Agent Orange in Viet Nam, forced him to retire and change his priorities, and two years later "When It Rains In Hell" was published. He still lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, is currently single, and has one daughter. He continues to write, and to pursue his other favorite pastimes, that of motorcycle riding, sailing a small boat, and playing his guitar anytime he spies a quiet roadside overlook. Peace comes with age, and with finally figuring out what you were born to do with your life.
