About the Book

In a land of castles and palaces among the rolling hills, the esteemed Valley of Tors, a special gift has been given to a select group of some of the greatest minds the world has ever seen. Their gift is the ability to travel in time and gain the knowledge of past and future ages by way of creating alternate realities and versions of themselves. In an upper room they gather to discuss their travels as they seek to perfect the mind and live in youthfulness. But when fellow members are killed in their travels they must question what becomes of the departed. As things start to go terribly wrong they must question why they have been given such a gift. They must question what "time" is and the nature and character of man. They will discover their answers as they journey through time. They will discover as they travel to the Old Island and pass beyond the Tears of the Damned. They will travel over the distant fields; beyond the high mountains to the land of Kleros where they shall confront the secrets of time and discover the mysteries of truth. Eusebius is packed with depth and meaning. Its captivating style paints a rich and moving picture that will take you on your own unforgettable journey. It is a story of friendship and betrayal; of love transcending the ages. It is the story of the lords of time.
About the Author: Eusebius: The Lords of Time is a fantasy epic filled with wondrous locations and deep adventure. From its opening paragraph it draws the reader into the story and immerses them in its surroundings. It is essentially a story of friendship and betrayal. It is also something much more. Eusebius opens amid a magnificent setting of castles and palaces placed among a land of rolling hills. It is the ultimate city of advancement. The reader is introduced to a fellowship of some twenty-eight friends who are all easily distinguishable as the book goes on. It was they who made the city what it was thanks to the knowledge they acquired by traveling in time. They are young and have the whole world before them. The knowledge of time has given them everything they desired from long life to luxuries. In this seemingly perfect world of close friendship and adventure problems begin to arise. Death and betrayal plagues their union in a mystery that will have you baffled. By the end of part 1 the close fellowship they shared has been completely broken. It shows how quickly things can change and friendships can be lost. Entering part 2 of the story we see all the greatness they achieved vanish and their entire world fall. It is then that we discover not only something worth dying for but more importantly a reason to live. We see men who had everything but still found life empty. We see men lose everything but find something worth more than anything they had before. "There is reason for people to live by certain principles," says author Patrick Strain. "Life is rich with meaning. By leading a principled life we do not find ourselves limited; rather we are infused with a passion for life and discover things we could have otherwise never known. We as humans have a high nature and an intellect above any other creature. That is what makes each of us unique. Our higher nature places us above the brutes. That is why we must have the proper understanding of self-respect, because we are all, regardless of our greatness, lords of this earth." It may be a fantasy, but it is one of the most uplifting and meaningful stories in recent memory. It very well may bring about a renewed interest in stories of principles and chivalry. It will definitely bring about an understanding to many who are troubled and give them peace. As the back of the book mentions, this is not only a journey for the characters in the tale. It is a journey for the reader.
