About the Book

"Evergreen Crossing" is a fast paced sci-fi, fantasy, adventure story featuring Derek Stoddard, the lone survivor of a freak plane crash who found himself thrust back in time to 1854 Seattle, a world he had only read and dreamed about. It is the accounting of one man who tries to find his way back "home" to his pregnant wife and seven year old daughter, a child who, despite evidence to the contrary, clings to the hope that her father is still alive. Throughout his quest to return to the 21st century, Derek's strong character and moral fiber have a lasting impact on every human being and creature, including two killer whales and a Sasquatch, with whom he comes into contact. There are the requisite "bad guys" (really bad guys!), as well as a few twists and turns along the way which lead the reader to wonder "how is this story going to end?" Using the "worm hole" theory, the readers are introduced to the author's interpretation of time travel and its possible consequences, one of which leads to a pleasantly surprising ending! With great character development and a strong story line, "Evergreen Crossing" is a heart warming adventure with broad appeal to readers of all ages.
About the Author: Michael F. Minor, or Mike as his friends know him, is a native of Seattle, Washington, having been born in the now defunct Seattle General Hospital. He attended kindergarten through high school in Bothell, Washington, just outside of Seattle. He maintains regular contact with many friends he has known as far back as the first day he stepped into a classroom. After high school, Mike joined the U.S.Navy, where he served aboard the USS Enterprise; the aircraft carrier, not the "beam me up, Scotty" starship. After the service, Mike attended the University of Washington, where he earned a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in English. His first real full time job was with United Parcel Service, where he worked for 25 years. He was fortunate that, during his career, UPS sent him twice on assignment to live in Germany, where he had a chance to travel throughout Europe Mike currently lives in Seattle, where his ancestors settled in the late 19th century. He is married to his wife, Ann, and between them they have five grown children........and a chihuahua named Zorro.
