About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

My Father's Examination gathers reflections about the life and death of the author's father: autobiographical passages; the country's sociopolitical situation, with special emphasis on the violence it is currently enduring; cultural reflections and references; and elements of physiology and anatomy of the human body that serve in each case as a unifying thread that ties together the rest of the stories.

The following pages aim at becoming an examination of my father: a dissection of his successes and failures, his teachings and weaknesses, his beliefs and enmities. It is also an anatomy of myself, and above all, an examination of my homeland, this aching Mexico at the dying moments of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century. An autopsy of this nation of ghosts and cadavers.
