Die ordnungsgemäße Ableitung von Wärmeenergie aus einem System ist für viele Geräte und Industrien immer eine Voraussetzung. Jedes Gerät, das mit einer externen Stromquelle betrieben wird, erzeugt immer Wärme. Die in solchen Systemen erzeugte Wärme muss an die Umgebung abgeführt werden. Eine Maximierung der Oberfläche der Geräte verbessert im Allgemeinen die Kühlleistung. Allerdings wird das System dadurch auch unhandlich. Daher ist eine gute Ausnutzung der Oberfläche des Systems ein wichtiger Parameter für ein effizientes Wärmeableitungssystem. Es war immer wünschenswert, einen Kühlkörper in allen Geräten zu haben, der ein Minimum an Platz bei maximaler Effektivität einnimmt. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Physik der konjugierten Wärmeübertragung in einem 3-D-System aus Aluminium-Stiftlamellen mit Luft als Arbeitsmedium analysiert. Ein Finite-Volumen-Solver, ANSYS Fluent, wurde für die Simulation einer gestaffelten Stiftflossenanordnung auf einer Grundplatte verwendet. Der Solver wurde anhand der experimentellen Daten validiert. Die thermische Analyse wurde für Rippen mit verschiedenen Querschnitten durchgeführt. Es werden Rippen mit kreisförmigem, sechseckigem, fünfeckigem, dreieckigem und tropfenförmigem Querschnitt mit verschiedenen Eintrittsgeschwindigkeiten betrachtet.
